The Next Key Step To Manifest Your Dreams
If you’ve been reading these blogs about dreams, then by now you should be into the habit of remembering your dreams, writing them down and even figuring out what they mean. That’s terrific and give yourselves a big pat on the back.
However–and you know there had to be a however in there, didn’t you?–in order to get the maximum benefit out of your dreams, you need to take one final step. This is called Dream Activation, or, simply put, doing something concrete in your waking life to amplify and embody the essence of your dream.
The simplest way to activate a dream is to share the dream with someone else. Talking about the dream helps cement it in your brain, may spark more details about it, and makes it feel more real to you. Talking it out with your friend might also help you figure out more of the dream’s meaning.
How much you do to activate a dream depends, of course, on the nature of the dream itself. If you have a dream about someone you haven’t seen in awhile, you can activate it by making contact with that person. I’ve had several of these dreams and they’ve all made my day a little brighter as everyone I’ve gotten in touch with in this way has been happy to hear from me.
If you dream about a certain food, make sure to eat it later that day. If you dream about being in a foreign country, read up about that country on the internet. (Or if you’ve got plenty of time and money to burn, hop on a plane for the trip you manifested in your nighttime hours.) Doing these things will give you sense of completion, peace and will encourage you to continue to remember your dreams.
There will be times, though, when the dream will demand that you take an action that may be out of your ordinary comfort zone. I once had a client who had a series of dreams about boats. Through further discussion with her, she came to realize that she had had a strong desire to buy a sailboat and travel around the ocean. She had repressed this real-life dream for so many years she had forgotten how much she really wanted to do this. After I helped her deal with her fears about making this leap, she went and bought that sailboat. Another client had a dream about a woman she didn’t know who was walking in and out of a dressing room, trying on a number of outfits. She took this dream as encouragement to go through with her plan to start a charity that helps underprivileged women get the clothes that they need to dress for success.
Whether your dreams are filled with life-changing power, confirm a decision you made the day before or are filled with images that just make you feel happy, take that next step and do something in your waking life to make that dream’s message a reality.

Today’s Dream Symbol: Baby
Babies have been on my mind a lot lately, as I’ve learned I’m going to be a grandma for the second time later this year. That brings me to a very common dream symbol: baby.
If you dream about a baby, it doesn’t mean that you’re going to have one. As you may suspect, baby dreams often deal with new beginnings, though as I’m quick to always point out, the specifics of the dream always dictate the actual meaning on the dream.
Nevertheless, there are some general points to be made about baby dreams. The basic watchword is new: new horizons, new relationships, new habits, new adventures. Perhaps, also, a fresh perspective on an old situation or an admonition to take “baby steps” when dealing with a problem or an uncertain circumstance. A baby dream may also cause you to take notice of your innocence or vulnerability or your need to baby yourself as a defensive measure. It might also act as a wake-up call, pointing out how you might be “acting like a baby” in a situation that requires maturity.
